Every year, Naomi + Ryan spend time at Pacific Beach in Washington with family. They rent a house (or a few) and spend the week taking in all the beach has to offer, cooking huge dinners, and playing games with their family, loved ones, and all the pups. So when Naomi and I were chatting about their engagement session plans, she asked if I would be willing to make the trek out to the coast to capture them in a special place and include their pups on the beach — hell yes! I am always down for shooting on the coast, it’s my happy place. And hearing that this was also their happy place, win-win!
Naomi is fond of the small town of Seabrook and wanted to take some images by the cute town hall building. But when we arrived in Seabrook, the beach was completely covered in fog, as was the cliffs and part of the town. We shot quickly by the town hall, then headed to the beach staircases to incorporate more of the trees, fog, and beautiful light — which turned out to be some of my favorite images. We then jumped in the car and headed up to Pacific Beach, where they were renting a house, and we finished out the session with the pups. Naomi wore the cutest “til-death” hat and I happened to snag a shot as it blew off when they leaned in for a kiss! It was such a gorgeous day at the Washington coast with this couple, and their sweet pups… I cannot wait to shoot their wedding this coming year.
