quick tips

Bring a few options per person, 3-4 outfits including accessories you would normally wear. This way we can mix and match with our locations accordingly. With footwear, keep in mind the area we are going to be shooting in, you want to be comfortable moving and playing around.
One of the most important parts — I want these images to look and feel like YOU. So, use the above suggestions as a guide. Have some creative freedom with what you are wearing so that reflects you as a couple!
Movement is so important with how I shoot as it brings a fun energy to the session. I want you to feel comfortable and able to move without restriction. Layers or flowing fabrics can help create movement and add a depth of texture to what you are wearing.
Choose colors that are complimentary to your skin tones, as well as the location environment we are shooting in. That way it’s your love, emotions, and connection that are showcased vs. all the attention drawing to your outfit.
GOOD : Neutrals, Pastels, and Muted Colors.
AVOID : All Fluorescence, Bright Red, Pink, Yellow and Orange.
Have only one item of what you are wearing with a loud pattern, otherwise it becomes a huge distraction. I love patterns, but typically only shoot them if they’re subtle and not distracting.
GOOD : Flannels, as this isn’t too much of a pattern that it distracts from faces or emotion.
AVOID : Chevron or thick striped sweaters. Also thin tiny stripes as they create a banding effect which is impossible to edit out.
Meaningful props like having a picnic, an old truck, or including your darling puppers — anything that helps represent the phase of life you’re in. I love when couples bring hats, sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, etc. because it adds more interest to the outfits rather than being overly too plain. And it adds character!
Grooming is important, for hands especially. Take your boo to have a manicure, make it a date thing! Hair and Make-up, keep it true to you so it’s not something you will obsess over — hair blows, and that is a key part of movement and shooting outdoors in the PNW.
