documentary wedding photography focuses more on interactions and connections as they happen naturally, vs something that is staged or overly posed. it helps to provide an accurate representation of the people and events throughout your whole wedding day — so your images will showcase more true life reactions and candid moments, not forcing you to be or act in a way that is not natural to you. documentary wedding photography can also give a perspective of the day that is more “behind the scenes” so to say, as your focus will be elsewhere so it allows you to see things you normally would have missed.
Yes — I think it is really important to make sure that you vibe with your photographer! After your inquiry, I will set up a quick call to say hello so we can get to know each other. From there we can discuss coverage options that would best fit your needs, answer any questions, and get your date reserved on the calendar if you are ready!
Just two things to get started… (1) A $500 non-refundable booking retainer must be paid in order to reserve your wedding date. This claims time on the calendar for your wedding and allows no one else to book that day. (2) The wedding contract must be completed and signed by both you + your partner. This is super easy to do as it is all online. Once those two things are done, you are on the books baby!
Totally. “What do I do with my hands??” — I hear this a lot. But don’t stress at all. I have a ton of prompts and little games to play that help break the ice, get you both laughing and having a good time. Or… just stand there being awkward as f* and I will make you look awesome anyways. Either way, I got you!
Yesssss. I’m a little OCD over this part, lol. Your images are just as important to me, and I wanna make sure to do my best that there is nothing lost. So after your wedding/session, I immediately download your images and back them up to 3 different locations. AND… I do not wipe the memory cards until your gallery of images is delivered. See… kinda OCD, but it works for me and keeps my mind less stressed.
At minimum, you will receive 50 images per hour. I am there to help tell the story of your love at your wedding, and I make sure that all images delivered are based in my shooting style — vs just being super trigger happy and delivering a bunch of “filler” images. The images are thought out, meaning there is a reason I am taking them — the light, the shadows, the subtle looks, smiles, touches — this all helps to ensure that what is delivered to your final gallery is something that you will cherish.
Adding a Second Shooter to your wedding day coverage is beneficial if you and your partner have to get ready at the same time or have getting ready off-site in different locations. In addition, if you have more than 150 guests, a second shooter allows for easier flow working around a larger crowd — providing more coverage and different angles of the ceremony, as well as the reception and all those cherished candid shots. When the need arrises, I work with vetted second shooters, as I want to make sure they fit as closely to my shooting style as possible.
