The Axis Pioneer Square is one of the most beautiful venues downtown for an intimate wedding celebration. This venue totally gives off that old Seattle vibe with vintage brick walls, old wooden floors, vast ceilings and exposed pipes, as well as being located in the heart of Pioneer Square. The venue serves as an art gallery as well, so we were able to see some beautiful artwork grace the walls that day.
M+K each arrived separately, walking the downtown Seattle streets with their wedding party. Then each tucked away in opposite corners of the venue to stay hidden, as they wanted the first time they saw each other to be when they were walking down the aisle.
Throughout the venue, M+K created a very elegant boho vibe with rich green and dark maroon accents to go along with macrame table runners, vintage oriental rugs, and tons of florals and leafy plants. In the spot for their ceremony vows, there was a stunning floral installment that arched along the top of the brick wall and underneath was a beautiful macrame wall hanging. Watching the florist put this piece together was mesmerizing. The flowers were so rich and colorful. These florals were later moved to the reception side of the venue, and hung out above M+K’s beautiful wedding cake.
The ceremony took place on one side of the venue, where M+K were able to split their entrance and each come from a separate side behind the brick wall. With the small gathering of family and close friends, it was so intimate and breathtaking — especially hearing the endearing vows that Morgan and Kelly wrote for each other… I totally teared up multiple times. They have such a deep love and respect for each other. It’s weddings like this that make you fully believe in true love.
They hosted a brunch reception immediately following the ceremony for their wedding guests. Then in the evening, hosted a reception for friends and extended family with a hand-tying ceremony, cake, speciality drinks, and lots of dancing. It was the perfect way to end the celebration day of their wedding!
