Thousands of miles to Artist Point

G+T flew in from Pennsylvania to have their engagement session while visiting friends in Seattle. They absolutely love Seattle and spend quite a bit of time out here in the PNW. Being recently engaged, they were hoping to have a session in the mountains. Wanting to capture that “big peak, classic alpine” feel, they mentioned the Snoqualmie Pass. But also said they were feeling adventurous and down to drive for the perfect location. Even though I’m from the Snoqualmie Valley and we have plenty of gorgeous spots, I immediately knew Artist Point matched the vibe they wanted. However, this area tends to close down in early October due to snow. So, we kept it as a tentative plan, with a backup location in mind just in case.

Just looking at their photos, you’d never know we had the craziest stormy, monsoon weather that week. Not gonna lie, it had me stressing. The forecast showed day after day of intense rain and wind, plus snow in the mountains, which could nix our Artist Point plans entirely. And since they were flying in from Pennsylvania for only a few days, we couldn’t just postpone for better weather. On the day of the session, no snow was forecasted and Artist Point was still open despite all the rain. By the grace of Mother Nature, as I pulled up to the trail entrance, there was a rare break in the weather. The sun came out in all her glory. Talk about meant to be!

Where the Earth Meets the Sky

Artist Point truly feels like you are on top of the world. Just reach out your and you can almost touch the sky. Absolutely giddy in love, G+T are so sweet and funny. We had the best time talking about their upcoming wedding back in PA. We also chatted about why they love Washington so much. It felt like meeting up with old friends while hiking the beautiful mountains. G mentioned they would need some help with posing, but they made it so easy. All I had to do was get them close to each other. The laughter and sparks were instantly flying. Cue the “epic mountain man and his beautiful wife-to-be” shots.
