After Wedding Portraits at Artist Point

A+J are avid outdoor adventurers, constantly on the go and looking forward to seeing all the beauty this world has to offer. So, when they booked me as their Wedding Photographer, we added a session after the wedding. This gave them Wedding Portraits somewhere they couldn’t adventure to on their wedding day, which was absolutely perfect. Artist Point, located near Mount Baker in Washington State, ended up being the best location. It fit their shared love of nature and adventure perfectly.

I adore shooting here. Not only does it offer jagged ridges, glaciers, and high alpine terrain, but it also provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the iconic North Cascades. Plus, the ever-changing PNW weather brings different shooting conditions every time I’m there. This makes each session a little unique and special.

Made for the mountains, and each other

On the day of our session in early September, we got lucky. The whole week leading up to it had been an absolute stormy, rainy mess. But heading up the mountain was exciting. The closer we got, the more the clouds began to disappear. The sun washed over everything in a warm glow. It was still rather windy, but I love a little wind — it helps bring movement to the moment. This hike offers so many great little spots for portraits. You can also just sit and take in the surrounding beauty. It’s quite awe-inspiring; you feel like you’re at the top of the world.

Portraits after a wedding bring such a freeing feeling. You don’t have to worry about your wedding attire getting ruined or stress about the day running smoothly. It’s just you, your partner, and the beauty around you. Here, you can be yourselves, play, and fall further in love.
