“my favorite thing is when we dance and he whispers the song in my ear.”
Maddy reached out for an intimate and cozy couples session with her husband, Sam, to celebrate their 8 year anniversary of dating. They booked a beautiful AirBnB on the coast of Port Angeles that is actually a treehouse! It was quite tiny but it was so darling… with a twin sized window seat by a floor to ceiling window that allowed you to sit and gaze out over the cliff and watch the ocean. It also had a wall ladder that led straight up to a little loft area with a bed, and some beautiful views of the ocean as well. It was so foggy for our session, so the ocean views were like a wall of grey lol, but the soothing sound of the rain on the roof gave the perfect intimate tone for our shoot.
Maddy brought some outfits from their elopement day that they were not able to utilize because of the time constraints. Due to Covid, they had to cancel their much anticipated Ireland wedding and settle for an elopement in Washington instead. They had two outfits planned but didn’t get to use the reception set, and I loved that she wanted to incorporate it. Sam had a very handsome tailored suit, while Maddy wore a beautiful floor length white sequin gown — it was absolutely stunning on her! Sam had a few moments where he was without words while looking at her and it was the sweetest thing seeing him smile that big.
We walked the grounds a bit by the cliffs, and watched as two bald eagles dive for fish, as they swooped and swirled together. It was like watching a poetic dance. Which was kinda perfect because in the planning of our session, Maddy told me…“My favorite thing is when Sam and I dance and he whispers the song in my ear! He has what seems like every song fully memorized and it never fails to make me laugh.” So at that time, also I gave them a moment to dance together and have Sam sing a song into Maddy’s ear.
From there we went inside and things got more cozy and intimate as they snuggled, read some books, had a tickle fight, danced on the bed, and listened to the rain fall on the roof as they looked out over the ocean.
